Grace Hannah Park navigates the spaces between
type, motion, print, and code to question how medium shapes
message. Her work often begins with noticing how
a moving image can breathe new life into a static poster,
or how certain ideas only make sense once printed,
folded, or bound. Lately, she’s been drawn to the tactile intelligence of street posters—their materiality, their presence—and how these qualities might be translated into digital formats. With a practice grounded in both formal design and experimental tools, she treats graphic design as a
responsive system rather than a fixed outcome.

REGIONALE 25
Identity & Poster Design Proposal

CLIENT
Die Regionale ist ein alljährliches Ausstellungsprojekt für zeitgenössische Kunst in der Region Basel, dem Elsass und Südbaden.

We live in a hyperconnected world where technology is largely controlled by multinational tech companies and their market-driven mentality. Electronics manufacturing, use, and waste are causing mounting problems for the environment. It’s vital that we continue our search for new solutions to break free from this vicious cycle, while also enjoying what truly brings us pleasure in life and our relationship with nature. The artistic dimensions of technology, which is both poison and remedy, can convey a new way of thinking and the potential for escape. The works presented in the exhibition invite us to leave gravity, in every sense of the word; through tangible alternatives in plastic art forms alongside sound and visual experiences. Échappée Belle invites us to navigate through and sometimes sidestep this digital society, to provide a change of perspective and bring a fresh sense of wonder to our everyday lives and our future.

This poster was created through a multi-step digital workflow combining machine learning, 3D modeling, and motion design. The process began with a custom object detection interface, trained to recognize gestures and visual inputs from different artists. These detected elements were captured and layered over a looping base video featuring deliberate glitches and distortions. The exhibition title, L’Échappée Belle, eine digitale Flucht, was modeled in 3D to resemble a metallic trophy or medal. This object was animated to rotate and glitch using Cinema 4D and then composited into the video using After Effects. Additional layers of motion graphics, typography, and texture were created and refined in After Effects to merge the various elements into a single animated composition. Each step was carefully aligned to maintain synchronization between machine recognition, glitch timing, and typographic motion.
